Spring is around the corner, and so is TKW
Hi there!
Can you believe The King's Weapon releases in a little over 30 days? Because I can't. Where did the time go?
With this release coming up, I've been thinking a lot about time and how much can change in such a short amount of time. A year ago I was wrapping up the first draft of TKW. A year ago I still thought I was going to go the traditional publishing route. A year ago I would never have thought I would be publishing TKW in a little over a month.
On the other hand, so much stays the same, stays constant. When I was a kid, I found solace in my books; I found peace in writing. In elementary school, writing inspired my love for reading. In middle school, I wanted to be an author. In high school, I wanted to be an editor. In college, I studied Latin, ancient Greek, and English Literature to help my writing. And then in grad school, I wanted to share my love of books and writing so I became a teacher (I no longer teach, but that's a different story).
Still, one thing always remained the same, for the ultimate dream was always to write—to be an author. That dream has stayed the same my entire life, whether it was at the forefront of my mind or not.
And now, here we are. Making that dream come true. And I am so happy to have you along for the ride.
Updates for The King's Weapon
Okay, now for the stuff you probably opened this email for in the first place: the updates.
ARCs are being sent out this week! If you signed up to be an ARC reader in January, you will receive an email from me letting you know if you received an ARC or not. Unfortunately, not everyone who signed up will receive one since more people than anticipated signed up (which is awesome!). I did, however, try to prioritize those subscribed to this newsletter.
I saw the first draft of my cover last week (eek!). I will be doing a cover reveal on Instagram later this week—but you all get to set it first.
And lastly, I hope to make pre-orders for The King's Weapon available this week as well. I just have to finish uploading all of the meta-data and files. So more on that soon!
Recent & Current Reads
Last month, I apparently had a CoHo kick. I read Reminders of Him and It Starts with Us. And while Colleen Hoover is not necessarily my favorite author, man, does she know how to make you feel. Both books have been on my TBR for a minute, but I am glad I read them when I did. It was just what I needed.
Currently, I am reading Shatter Me. Now, THIS series has been on my TBR forever. I own the entire series, yet this is the first time I'm reading it. The writing style is unique and chaotic, and I kind of love it. We will see how the rest of the series goes.
