Slipping away into a moment in time
Hi there!
It's been a busy month (months, if I'm being honest). Somehow each summer I end up packing every weekend with something as if time will run out. The past month has been filled with plenty of camping trips, wine tastings, TCS revisions, procrastinated projects, outings with friends and family, and so much more.
While I am sad to say goodbye to summer so soon, I am excited to see what this fall has in store for all of us. I'm ready for slower days, bonfires on breezy nights, spiced wine, and fall reads.
I mentioned in a recent Instagram post that I don't like talking about book sales and such too often for various reasons. It can be hard not to compare my own author's journey to another's and criticize my own accomplishments. However, I want to take a minute to share a few milestones that we have reached since the last newsletter (and there are a few!).
• TKW hit 100,000 Page Reads on KU in July! This has been a personal goal of mine since publishing TKW and we did it! (& it just hit 200,000!)
• 50 Reviews on Amazon!
At 50 reviews, Amazon begins automatically advertising the book,
which is a huge help to us indie authors.

Recent & Current Reads
Last year, I read Dance of Thieves by Mary E. Pearson only to find out after reading it, that The Remnant Chronicles comes before the duology.
I finally got around to reading Book I in the Remnant Chronicles, The Kiss Deception, and I am so glad I did! I haven't read a lot of YA fantasy recently, and I'm so glad I finally returned to it because this series is giving everything I need right now.
I also get major TKW vibes when reading, but that might just be because I've been deep into edits lately...

Writing Updates!
The Crown's Shadow, the sequel to The King's Weapon, is well on its way in the revision process. At the beginning of September, it will be off to my editor for copy edits!
In September, I will also be revealing the cover!! I am so excited for you all to see it!
At the same time, I will be opening up the ARC sign-up form as well, so stay tuned! (And of course, finally announcing the official release date. Right now, I have it slated for some time this December...).
Haven't read the first book in the series yet? The King's Weapon is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, and Kindle Unlimited! There is also one signed copy left on my Etsy shop here! In the fall, I will be restocking my shop (and possibly adding some character art).
Oh! And one more thing!
I have teamed up with 24 other authors in an upcoming, limited-time fall fantasy anthology, Out of the Cauldron, that comes out this October (10. 17. 2023)! This anthology will be filled with 25 short stories (and some accompanying character art!) ranging from cozy fall fantasy reads to heartfelt romances to horror. There's something for everyone!
I am currently in the drafting stage of my short story, "The Phantom Prince," but it has been so much fun to write! If you love broody MCs, witch vibes, ballroom scenes, tension, and those sweet, secret moments between two people who refuse to admit their feelings for one another, you won't want to miss out!
