Happy December! The end of 2022 is near, which is both exciting and terrifying for so many reasons. This past January my resolution was to finish writing my book, something which seemed like a daunting task to do in one year. But look where we are now! The King’s Weapon is in its final review stages, I’m preparing to publish it, and I have written almost half of book 2 (shout out to NaNoWriMo for forcing me to write 50,000 words in November). Normally, I am not one to make resolutions (and definitely not one to stick to them), but when you break down your goal into manageable steps and have a community supporting you and cheering you on, anything seems possible (I know that’s cheesy, but it’s true). Anyways, my goal is to release a newsletter once a month (because one, I don't want to annoy you; and two, these things take time to write). During these newsletters, I will talk about book updates, recent reads, and other writing shenanigans. As a subscriber to the newsletter, you will be the first to know upcoming release dates, receive exclusive content, and get access to other bonus material. Book Updates: The King's Weapon
1.Final Edits: I am currently in the process of completing final edits! My editor returned my manuscript to me at the beginning of the month. Now I am running through it one more time before formatting. 2.Cover reveal coming in February! 3.Pre-orders: Once I have the cover, TKW will be available to pre-order on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Kindle Unlimited. (While I could in theory put it up now... it logistically seems like a nightmare to do it without the cover). 4.ARC Readers: In January I will start looking for ARC readers. For those of you who do not know, an ARC reader is someone who receives an advanced reader copy of a book. After reading the ARC, you agree to post an honest review on sites like Amazon and Goodreads as well as on social media. Reviews are so important for authors. So if you are interested, be on the lookout in mid-January for a newsletter with a link to the sign-up form.
A Look Back at This Year's Favorite Reads

This year my goal was to read 52 books, one for each week in theory. I ended up reading 59 books, which I know to some is definitely not a lot. Choosing a favorite book for each month was so hard! My 2022 reads does do a decent job of showing my favorite types of books though. Give me a fantasy, rom-com, and the occasional heart-wrenching book and I am set.
I'm still finalizing my 2022 goals, but my main focuses will be (1) to diversify my books more and (2) read more books by indie authors.
And finally, the moment you have been waiting for: the release date!

The King's Weapon will be released on April 3rd, 2023! As some of you may know, The King's Weapon will be a part of a series. As of right now, I'm thinking it will be a trilogy with the possibility of one or two spin-offs. My goal is to publish the second book (which remains untitled so far) in either late 2023 or early 2024, depending on how everything pans out.
